To be honest, I’m quite new to smoothies (I know, I know, I’m late af).
But I’m trying to be healthier this year and I decided to start making
smoothies at home. I like fruits but I just don’t eat them often and I can’t
even find a reason why, I just don’t get full enough I think. But I do like
shakes and smoothies are similar but healthier option so I decided to try that.
Here’s my first try.
For this smoothie we need just 2 kiwis, one orange, a cup of spinach and
a tablespoon of vinegar. Honestly when I read this for the first time I was a
bit shook, like it’s a weird combination isn’t it 😀 .
You peel off the fruits and cut them in pieces and then just put everything
in the blender. So far so good. I used frozen spinach so if you use the same
blend the fruits first and then add the spinach in pieces because it’s easier.
We got this in the end.
Honestly I was a bit scared to try it but once I did I was surprised it
was actually good. Well not bad for a first try. It tastes more like kiwi than
anything else but it’s a bit sour from the orange and the vinegar I think. I
would definitely make it again.
Comment bellow your favorite smoothies I should try out. xoxo
This recipe is easy and quick. I’ve cooked it twice till now and it
tastes great every time so I hope you like it. These products are for 4
portions. You’re gonna need:
Egg noodles – 300g.
Onion – 1
Carrots – 2
Mushrooms – 200g.
Sprouts
Green Peppers – 3
Jalapeno pepper – 1
Chicken breasts – 500g.
Ginger – 1 tea spoon
Garlic – 2-3 cloves
Oil
Chili
Soy sauce
Salt
Black Pepper
Starch – 3 spoons
Sugar – 1 tea spoon
Chinese food is best to be cooked in Wok, but if you don’t have it, you
can use another deep pan. Cook it on very high temperature , and prepare
everything in advance so you can put it straight away.
First marinate the chicken because it has to sit in the marinade for at
least 20-30 minutes. Cut the meat into julienne of the same size and pour 1-2
tablespoons. oil, 2-3 tablespoons starch, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, black pepper,
pinch salt, half a teaspoon of sugar, garlic powder. Stir well and leave in the
fridge.
Boil the prepared noodles according to the package. The basic rules are
that you have to put them after the water is boiled and it usually takes 4-5
minutes to cook, but before that, break them into smaller pieces. After they’re
ready put them in cold water to stop the process of boiling. Drain the water
and pour a lot of (sesame) oil, which prevent them to stick.
Cut the carrots, mushrooms and peppers into julienne , making sure they
are of the same size to fry evenly and remain crunchy. Chop the jalapeno on
rolls and onion on 4-5 pieces.
Put 2-3 tablespoons of oil in the pan and heat very well to a high
temperature. Put the chopped meat and fry for a few minutes. When the meat is
ready, remove it from the fat and leave it aside.
In the same pan, put 1 teaspoon chili, half a teaspoon of chopped garlic
and ginger. 20 sec. later put the vegetables, putting the harder vegetables
first (carrot, pepper, onion).
As it fries at a very high temperature, stir it frequently and expect
the vegetables to be ready very quickly. When you think the vegetables are
ready, reduce the heat, add the meat and noodles. Put 1-2 tablespoons soy
sauce, 1 tsp. oil.
Serve while it’s hot and enjoy! Tell me in the comments if you tried and
your opinion on it. xoxo
As students we often struggle with organization, lack of motivation,
dealing with our money and pretty much everything. Being a student is
definitely not easy. I bet as you were younger you were thinking that older people know everything and just
deal with all kind of situations with ease ( I know I did), but growing up I
started to realize that everyone is just as lost and just struggles with life
and trying to do the best they can. So yeah, here are some useful apps which
hopefully will ease your daily life just like they did with mine.
Forest
Now we all know how difficult it is to concentrate on your studies and
not check your phone every 5 minutes. Even if you are focused notifications
will keep alluring you and next thing you know, you’ve been on your phone for an
hour with your textbook opened in front of you. Forest will help you stay
present. It is only 2 quid on iOS and free on android, it can also be downloaded
on browsers like Chrome or Firefox. I’ve found this app really helpful, especially
during exam period. You simply have to set how long you want the session to
last and press the plant button. It blocks everything and while it lasts you
can’t open anything else. Each completed session adds another plant to your “Forest”.
My Study Life
This is a free app that is going to help you organize your modules, lectures,
assignments and exams. It really helps staying organized, I started using it in
high school and still use it at this point.
Mint
Budgeting is really important for everyone, but especially when you’re a
student. We’re always living on a budget but easily spend our maintenance loan
the first 2 weeks and then wonder how the fuck should we survive till the next
payment. Well this app doesn’t do magic but it really helps as you can
categorize your expenses and revenue and it shows you how much money you’ve spend
for the month and on what. ( Anyone else spending their money for takeaways and
trebbles? No…okay).
Drunk Mode
I swear I’m not an alcoholic! But don’t tell me you’ve never been drunk
texting. Everyone’s done it and we always text the wrong things to the wrong
person. Well this app allows you to block your ability to text or ring certain people
unless you solve a math problem. Another plus is it allows you to let your friends
know you got home safe.
Cram
If you like using flash cards while you’re studying – this is the app
for you! Let’s be real, real flash cards take longer to make, take space and
they’re hard to keep track of. With this app you can create your own custom
decks of cards and search for others on your topic of study.
Circle
Circle is a payment app which makes money transfers so much easier. You
literally need just an e-mail address and you can request and send money at all
times. It’s quick, and you can send money in groups, in other countries and has
no fees. The exchange rates it offers are pretty good so it can be used for
international transfers too. When you have money on the app it takes 3-5 days to
transfer them in your bank account.
Productive
This is the perfect app to start the year with. If you want to be productive
and not let your new years resolutions fade than you should definitely download
this. It lets you keep track on habits or new routine you want to start, it’s
great for short term goals.
I don’t know about you guys but I think it’s so much easier to stay organized
using these apps and my planner. Every year I lose my motivation at some point
and I start thinking like “oh, what’s the point in writing everything down or
tracking things? I’m still gonna be the same blah blah” . Trust me, though, it
makes all the difference, just try to stay motivated. Tell me in the comments
if you’ve used any of these apps and what’s your opinion, or recommend your
favorites. xoxo
Lately I find myself watching make up videos and tutorials quite often.
I’m trying to become better at make up and I’ve realized watching Youtube
videos really helps. Although just a make up tutorial is not enough is it? Many
times I just get bored, it’s important the person talking to be interesting and
inspiring. Here are some of my favorite beauty gurus:
Jeffree Star – he is one of the first beauty vloggers I started to watch. Sister always has tea which I loveee and he’s always keeping it real. He’s worked with make up for more than 10 years and really knows what he’s doing so I 100% trust his opinions.
James Charles – he is only 18 but has millions subscribers and he does make up like a pro. It’s really inspiring that he achieved so much at such young age. His tutorials are easy to follow and he does collaborations with other vloggers quite often. There’s more to his channel than just make up. You should definitely check him out.
Jaclyn Hill – I’ve only recently got into her videos but I honestly can’t stop watching them. She’s so excited and enthusiastic but down to earth, it puts you in a good mood just by watching. Most of her videos are long but she’s very chatty and fun to watch so just grab a snack and start watching.
Nikkie Tutorials – OMG this girl is just flawless. I admire her soo much. I feel like everything she does is perfect, she’s very friendly and down to earth but doesn’t lack sense of humor. If you are into make up you should definitely watch her videos sometime.
Tati – she is very calm and I feel like watching her videos makes me relaxed. Hands down one of the most honest people on Youtube, would never hesitate to say her real opinion about something. She doesn’t do make up tutorials but everything else is very helpful and entertaining.
These are some of my favorites beauty gurus but there’s loads more worth mentioning, comment down bellow who are your favorites that I should check out and if you want me to keep making posts like this one. xoxo
If you are a night owl like me, or just struggle with waking up in the morning then you NEED to hear this. I’m the type of person that’s gonna hit the snooze button till the last 20 minutes and then rush in order to be on time (organization skills on fleek, I know), but this playlist has made waking up so much easier for me. It just makes me feel more energetic, and for me to say that trust me it’s a lot. Some of these songs are even recommended from psychologists for easier waking up so yeah.. let’s just get into it :
Tell me in the comments your opinion or if you recommend other songs to be added to the list. Also if you are using Spotify you can just follow my playlist down below. xoxo
I’ve lived in Newcastle for about a year and a half now and I think it’s a great city. There’s a lot to do and see but among us students the main thing it’s famous for is the best night life in the UK. Now I’m a student and I love going out and meeting people, clubbing, dancing. I’ve seen people from Manchester, Leeds, even London who come here just for nights out. In this post I’m gonna give you a bit of a guide for where to go and where you’re gonna have the best experience.
Bijoux
This is a bar placed on the Diamond strip which is top location and it’s near many good clubs. It’s more like a pre-place but it’s one of my favourites here. Small but live and full of students. Very cheap as well, through the week you can buy 3 trebles just for 6 quid. You should know that it is quite packed and if you don’t like loud and busy bars, maybe this is not the place for you. Many of the Geordie Shore cast could be seen there along with other VIPs. It also has a sister bar in Marbella. The music is commercial, house and R’n’B and it is home to international quality DJs.
House of Smith
My №1 place for a night out. With its dazzling decoration and 50s glam it could be compared to a Gatsby party. Drinks are very good, although a bit more expensive than Bijoux it’s totally worth it. It offers booths and table service for special occasions. The club is on almost every night as Waikiki Tuesdays, Jungle Thursdays and Skull Candy Fridays are the most popular. The entry is usually 5-6 pounds. The music is mainly R’n’B, Hip-Hop and Grime.
Tup Tup Palace
Smaller but luxurious night club in the centre of Newcastle. The playlist is varied, and you’re likely to hear the freshest mix of RnB, hip-hop, house and electro tunes on any given visit. Entry is again about 5 pounds. It offers booths and a VIP zone. Now it might be small but the people it attracts certainly not. It has been visited by many celebrities as Drake, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Ed Sheeran, Ne-Yo and many others. You won’t regret going there. One of the best nights ever.
Livello
Livello is more of a high-end place near Queyside. With its sleek décor and pricey drinks it just screams VIP. It’s a cocktail bar during the day and a glamorous club at night. Definitely not just a student place and not as packed as the previous but very luxurious. High grade DJs and great music (commercial, R’n’B, Hip Hop). Another major pro is that it is free entry unless you want to go in the VIP.
The O2 Academy
That is one of Newcastle’s top live music venues. It’s hosted many great artists known all over the world. You can find it near Central station. The venue is huge and it is great for House, Rock and Metal fans.
This is a huge club near Central station with capacity of 2,200 people. It has 4 floors and music varies in the rooms, there is something for everyone ( R’n’B, rock, house, techno). This club is quite the experience hence why it was ranked 11th best club in the world. It’s seen international known DJs like David Guetta, Fatboy Slim and many others. The most famous event is Digi Mondays which is only 80p entry before midnight and it’s famous with its one pound drinks.
World Headquarters
Last but not least is WHQ. That is Newcastle’s longest running underground club. Since the 80s a politically charged, anti-racist rallying point in its early days, it is still committed to inclusivity. It has two floors and plays techno, reggae, dub and house.
Of course there is many more bars and clubs worth mentioning but I don’t want to make this too long so tell me in the comments if you are interested in second part of this post.
Chocolate is like every girl’s weakness right? Definitely was mine and
even though I don’t eat as much nowadays that still is one of my favorite
deserts. I’m pretty sure everyone’s had brownie but I’m just gonna share my
recipe for it. Hope you like it.
You’re gonna need :
Dark Chocolate – 200g.
Butter – 175g.
Flour – 70g.
Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
Sugar – 140g.
Eggs – 2
Walnuts – 60g.
Vanilla – 1 teaspoon
Ice Cream
First you start by melting the butter and the chocolate in a water bath
together and let them cool down a bit. During this time, slice the walnuts with a sharp
knife to have them ready.
Beat the eggs and the sugar in a bowl and when that’s done slowly start
pouring the melted chocolate and butter in the bowl while you keep beating them.
Put the flour and the baking powder and keep beating till you get a homogenous
chocolate mix.
Add the vanilla and the walnuts in the end and stir it. Put the mix in a
greased tray and bake it on 160 degrees with a fan.
The brownie should be ready in 30 minutes. Serve it warm with a ball of
Ice cream. Enjoy! xoxo
